Hard to believe Ollie is two years old! And it's even hard to plan a birthday party when his birthday is on Christmas Eve! We kept it low key and invited the cousins to meet us at the park for lunch- we asked Ollie what he wanted and he said "Pizza!" so pizza it was. Confessions of a trying to do it all Mom- I should have planned it all out in advance but...it didn't quite happen that way. It pretty much all came together day of, even the invites. Pizza was easy, but getting a cake, that was the hard one. Do they not think people have birthdays around Christmas? Literally every cake was a Christmas cake. I finally had to settle on a cake that was white with no Christmas decorations on it other than red and green drizzled all over the edges. Then I had to beg the store to put Lightening McQueen and Mater on it and write Happy Birthday Ollie. They had to wait for the manager to come back to ask permission, so silly but the manager was super nice and made it happen and thank goodness because it was his favorite thing of the whole party (but I was a tad late to the park over it all). I was actually surprised that with short notice and it being Christmas Eve nearly everyone was able to make it, and it was actually nice to have a break from all the hustle and bustle to just hang out, eat pizza, and hang out at the park.

After pizza and playing it was time to have cake! That is when I realized that I only had one candle, and the funny thing is I didn't think anything was wrong with one candle until everyone else asked me where the other one was. I guess I must be in denial that he is two because in my head it was his first birthday. Oh well!
