Little Doggies

When Ollie and I took our trip to Costco yesterday I couldn't resist getting him his own little doggies. They might look like stuffed animals but they are hand puppets so as soon as your hand goes inside them the little doggies come to life and Ollie squeals and laughs and LOVES them. Tonight we had a great time visiting with Marmee, Dad, Jodee and gang. My favorite part of the night was getting on the floor with Ollie, Marmee, Kylee and I had him surrounded each with a puppy in hand. We took turns letting our little wild dogs run after him, their little feet tickling him. He laughed and would jump on top of them and roll around playing along. Such a fun time. Now he is all tuckered out, sleeping with his new little buddies right by his side...

Trying to Take Charge

This week Ollie decided he is tired of me being the one to feed him, he wanted to feed himself. So he went for the spoon. Just when I thought feeding couldn't get any messier he took it to a whole new level! He of course thought it was the funnies thing, every time he was fast enough to catch the spoon he would hold on to it with all the strength he could muster and as I tried to pry it out of his hand he would just laugh at me. I have to admit I laughed back, how can you not when he is giggling at you? Definitely not ready to just hand it over though, he still has to catch it!

Twin Brother

Today when Ollie was crawling around his room he discovered a new playmate, a little twin brother that will play right back with him. He got all excited and slapped hands with him, pressed his forehead against his like buddies do, they rubbed noses and he loved his brother so much he laid a few kisses on him! And then he looked at me as if to make sure I could see him too. Now he stops by to say hi and give him a kiss every day!

New Trick

Last night Matt and I had to lower Ollie's bed down for the first time because someone has learned a new trick!

Helping Daddy Work

Today I came home from running errands to find Ollie "helping" Matt work. Maybe I should start with what happened last night. Ollie threw up, not just spit up it was like a whole lot of smelly nasty throw up, all over Matt's side of the bed. So we stripped off the sheets and pillow cases and immediately threw them into the wash. About five minutes later Matt asked me where his phone was, after calling it a few times I had a sick feeling and went into the laundry room, opened the washer and started digging around. Just as I pulled his phone out of the water he walked in to see me holding it all dripping wet with a shocked look on my face. There was nothing to say. At least that is the good thing about Matt, I probably would have cried or gotten angry at least, he just took it and sadly walked away. Nobody's fault we stripped the bed together just one of those things that happens in the chaos when babies are throwing up! (This is the reason for the bed without bedding- sheets are still drying.) Today Ollie felt like repaying Matt by helping him work, or at least he tried. He didn't whine or cry, he just sat there and entertained, tried to add a few things to his emails.

Matt didn't get much done, but you can see how upset he was with his cute little distraction ;)

Pointing

Today Ollie and I hung out playing in his room. Now that he is crawling around he is starting to get into all kind of mischief.

But crawling is already proving too boring to him, he wants to pull himself up on things.

I can't tell if it is the pulling himself up he likes, or the getting a closer look. Maybe he starts with the idea of pulling himself up and gets distracted by the view?

And then comes my favorite part, something will catch his eye and he pulls out his little pointer finger and has to touch it. It cracks me up to see him do it, he's so serious when he is concentrated on getting that tiny little finger right on whatever it is he is looking at.

He can't ever resist a tag, he finds them every time, it is his favorite part of every blanket and toy.

He got himself back on task pulling himself up...

That was until he got distracted by his urge to point at the push sign on his crib again...

But he overcame it, determined to finish what he started...

He managed to get one foot on the ground...

When the second one was too hard to move he turned to me begging for help...

I confess I gave him a boost and then let go.

But he stood there all on his own

Until his eye got hold of the push sign again and he let go with his one hand thinking he could point at it one more time...

Instead he fell back on his hinny.

And crawled away...

Only to pout because crawling is hard work and some how a room full of toys isn't all that exciting

But his pouting quickly stopped when he spotted something new, a little line on the rug to point at!

Lovin' on Sage

I don't get out of the house a ton during the week anymore, so tonight I actually showered and got dressed just so Ollie and I could make a run to Costco. My only real purpose was to pick up pictures I had ordered of prints from Ollie's blessing so I could send them out to people, but somehow I still ended up picking up other things. This time they were all little trinkets for Ollie. They had Halloween costumes out so I grabbed one for him just in case we don't get around to getting a theme together, and then there were these hand puppets that were oh so cute that he loved from the minute I showed them to him. As we were standing in the check out line playing with each other I heard my name and looked over to find Hydee and Sage also checking out. We switched lanes to go over and say hello, I don't know why it's fun to bump into family when you're shopping but it always is. Sage even took some pictures of Hydee, Ollie and me standing in line- I think the people behind us were probably regretting getting in our lane! Then Sage asked Hydee if she could come home with me. As we headed out to the parking lot and found our cars right next to each other Hydee asked if we wanted to come over for dinner. Any time I don't have to cook I'm all over it, so I of course took her up on her offer and invited Sage home with me so we could go pick up Matt. We found him at home glued to the Olympics. We joined him for a bit and Ollie took the opportunity to crawl all over Sage and give her some lovin!

Lovin and crawlin all over her

Sage didn't seem to mind the attention!
After a fun little visit we headed to Hydee's for some home cooking. It was a treat to sit down to dinner with the whole family. Afterwards they all came to our house to watch the Olympics. It was a great night, so glad I went to Costco!
