While it may appear that he is calm and cooperative in these pictures, I thought it would be fun to show you what goes on behind the scene- taking pictures was a lot easier when he was less active! As soon as I sit him down next to his teddy bear now he thinks it is time to show off and play, so kicking around and rolling around, grabbing teddy and of course smiling are all part of the big event. In the end I have nearly 100 pictures of each photo shoot and I have the task of sorting through to see which ones are actually clear (when he kicks around a moves so much I end up with blurry pictures), and then which ones actually caught his expression (lots of pics with his eyes closed or the lens went off a second two late and his expression had already changed or he had looked away) and then try my best to pick the ones that show off his little personality as well as how he is measuring up next to his teddy. In the end just having one that is clear often wins out but it has become a fun ritual.
His latest accomplishment- he rolls from his back to his belly. I'm not sure that I'm ready for it, mainly because he doesn't know how to get back from his belly to his back but he has decided that this is now his favorite thing to do, and when he gets tired of being on his belly he protests until I help him get back over to his back. He is a lot stronger now though and keeping his head up when he is on his tummy isn't as hard as it used to be for him so he doesn't mind it as much when he is on his tummy. I think eventually he just gets tired of holding his head up so hopefully soon he will learn to roll back the other way. I neve know what to expect when I go into check on him in his crib now. Not only does he roll he kicks the side of the crib and moves himself all around so he is never in the same place I left him. Tuesday was the first time he discovered he could roll over byhimself, here is a clip of him on Wednesday rolling around in his crib.
