I sent the boys outside with Popsicle this afternoon so I could do some more unpacking and cleaning up in the kitchen after lunch (the lunch that Jed decided he didn't want to eat so he spit out and threw all over the floor). Within a few minutes they must have been bored of the Popsicle because I discovered that they were smearing them all over the back window. This is how it goes these days, a movement from one cleaning project to the next, so I headed outside to spray down the window which ended up turning into an hour or so of cleaning off the back porch. At least I was able to play with the boys spraying them down while I sprayed the porch down, which had to have felt good in this Arizona summer heat, and getting a little bit of help out of them. As I was finishing off the porch we discovered a worm crawling on the edge of the porch. Ollie got excited to pick it up and play with it, and then he called Jed over to check out his new toy. They found another one and pretty soon they were playing in the mud with the worms. I know that may sound gross but for little boys this was just as fun as a trip to Legoland!
And then I dared him to hold it with his mouth...little did I know he would actually do it!
Ahhh! He did it twice because Dadee got home and he wanted to show him. And Jed was getting a little jealous that Ollie was hogging the worm after one escaped from them into the mud.
Ollie didn't really feel like sharing so while he was busy playing with the worm Jed found another way to entertain himself...
And so the mud fight began!
Ollie tried to convince Jed to throw it at the goats instead of him, I guess he knew he was in trouble!
And then those crazy boys tried to come after me!
As I'm finishing this post Ollie just walked in and said "I want to get muddy again!" I have a feeling this is just the beginning of many mud fights to come, maybe next time I'll have to join them!
