First Day of Nursery

It was a happy sad day today. Admittedly the last few months of church have not been the easiest. Ollie is pretty active and trying to get him to be still for 3 hours is an impossible task! Everyone has been asking me when the big day is and they've all been suggesting that I just sneak him into Nursery early, but as hard as it is at times I also couldn't bare the thought of letting him go just yet. So I hung out until the end- it's June 30th, the Sunday after his 18 month birthdate. We got him all ready for his big day and then took some pictures to document our little guy all grown up! We gave him a few squeezes and kisses with Mommee and Daddee and then let him take some all by himself...

Cheeeese!
Kisses!

All during sacrament meeting I held him. Giving him extra loves trying to imagine the next few hours without him. By the end of sacrament meeting I was ready to let him go- all of his wiggles and trying to keep him contained on the row reminded me of what the next few hours are really like- a battle! Haha! I think it is also a little easier knowing in just a few months I'll have another little boy to take care of so it may be the first time letting him go, but he isn't the last :)

He wanted to walk himself to nursery, Matt and I both took him. He was a little hesitant at the door because there was another kid right outside crying, but once he got in and caught sight of the cars and his friends he barely looked back! No cries from this guy!

Since it was a fifth Sunday Matt and I got to spend the next two hours together. It was pretty fun to actually hear a whole lesson and get to snuggle with Matt at church. Although I couldn't help but take a peep in between classes to see how Ollie was doing! (And he was just fine!)

I rushed to get him after church. They said he did great, but he was excited to see me! He showed me his first picture- he still isn't much for coloring but he got a few marks on the page. I took him outside while we waited for Daddee to finish up. (He was busy giving a new brother in the ward a blessing after church, I'm always fascinated with hearing about those experiences, how he gets promptings, etc.) Ollie loved his picture so much he kissed it...

No holding this guy back now, he's all grown up! Mind as well be driving already!

When Daddee was done he was excited to show him his first picture.

They celebrated after church by making cookies together.

After chowing down on cookie dough he washed it down with some milk!

Love my boyz!

Family Easter Egg Hunt 2013

My sister is great at hosting the family Easter Egg Hunt, and this year she went overboard by doing all the food and Easter Eggs for the hunt herself. I think we were all still trying to recover from putting on Jodee's wedding so it was a welcome surprise that I didn't have to lift a finger! Although I was a little sad to think that we were going to miss out on Natalie's crazy bread, but luckily she didn't disappoint and brought it anyway. It's so good! It was a typical wonderful day- the men sat in the backyard catching up while they watched the kids so the women could finish getting the food setup and ready.

Once the spread was all ready, we dug in. Ollie loves getting spoiled by all his cousins who are always eager to take care of him!

Love Hydee's courtyard, great place to eat and so pretty in the spring.

After brunch came the famous picture on the stairs with all the cousins.

In an effort to get everyone smiling we yelled out to the kids- "Who wants candy?" and they yelled back as loudly as they could "Me! Me! Me!" Poor Ollie still gets scared in loud chaos and burst into tears! But Auntee Marcee was there to rescue him.

All ready for the Easter Egg Hunt, we have been practicing for weeks and I was sure Ollie was going to dominate!

I forgot to take into account the fact that not only was the hunt right at his nap time, but the loud chaos that occurred as everyone was let lose out the door sent him over the edge- there was no dominating going on, he just cried his little eyes out!

It just took one egg and remembering that there were treats inside to get him back into the swing of things.

He was a bit slow to take off so Dada had to help him find eggs that the other kids couldn't reach.

The babies and their spoils...

Traditional picture of all the grandkids with Grandpa and Marmee, not an easy shot to get!

Ollie telling Marmee he wants "More!"

Caught him poaching off of some of the other kids baskets!

Everyone else was in the middle of a big Easter Egg fight so they didn't seem to notice! Here's Drex going after Matt...

One of the best parts of being with family is that Matt and I get to sit back and relax while Ollie plays with all the cousins.

Laird and Joshua kept him busy, he loves to wrestle them...

The best part of him wrestling Joshua is Joshua's infectious laugh, he was hard belly laughing the entire time and I couldn't help but laugh along with them :)

Then Uncle Lance jumped in and got Ollie rapping with him...

The boys thought Ollie's rapping was a lot of fun, so so cute!

And just because there are SO MANY pics the highlights with all the rest of the cousins are posted in our Easter Eggg Hunt video. HAPPY EASTER!!!
